Who I am

This site is run by Monica Gonsalves (Les Fleurs de la Nuit), Seattle, Washington. To reach me about anything here, use the contact form on the site.

The short version

I collect as little as I can. There are no advertising or tracking scripts on this site and no analytics. I do not sell or share your details for marketing.

Looking at the site

The web server keeps an ordinary log of requests: the address your browser came from (IP address), the time, the page, and what kind of browser it was. I use it to keep the site running and to notice misuse. The log is rotated and old parts are deleted after about two weeks.

Fonts and images are served from this site. Nothing is loaded from other companies when you look at a page.

Cookies and storage in your browser

This site sets no cookies. If you put something in the cart, the cart is kept in your own browser (its local storage) so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.

The contact form and print requests

When you write to me, I receive what you typed: your name, your email address, your message, and for a print request the photograph and the options you chose. I also receive the time and the IP address it was sent from, which helps me stop spam.

I keep a message for as long as I need it to answer you and deal with your request. When I delete it, it is removed for good within 30 days.

Buying something

Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe's own page. I never see or store your card number. From Stripe I receive your email address, the country and state or region of your billing address (needed for sales tax), what you bought and what you paid.

I keep the order, its invoice and the record of the mails I sent you, because tax rules require me to keep sales records. Your download links and the count of downloads are kept for 30 days. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

Email

The order email is sent through Resend, a mail delivery service, which therefore handles your email address and the message on my behalf. I do not add you to any mailing list.

Links to other sites

Some links lead to other sites, such as YouTube for the tutorials. Those sites have their own policies. Nothing is sent to them until you follow a link.

Where it is kept

The site and its records are kept on a server I rent in Germany. Stripe and Resend are companies in the United States.

Your choices

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I will do so unless I have to keep it, as with sales records. Use the contact form.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their details.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
